Matt Gregory

board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist

Matt Gregory, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS is a physical therapist and athletic trainer at Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in LaFayette, GA. Matt is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist. Matt is the clinic director for the LaFayette clinic. Matt also works through Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine as the athletic trainer for the Georgia Northwestern Bobcats Men's Basketball team. Matt graduated from LaFayette High School in 2004 and continued his education at the University of Georgia (UGA). While at UGA, Matt enrolled in the Athletic Training Education Program. During this time he worked as a student athletic trainer with the Georgia Bulldogs football, baseball, track and field, and women’s tennis teams. Additionally, Matt completed an athletic training internship in the summer of 2007 with the Indianapolis Colts. Matt graduated from UGA in 2008 with the degree Bachelor of Science in Education in Exercise and Sports Science and became a certified athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. In 2011 Matt received the degree Doctor of Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. Matt is also a Certified Strength and Condition Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Matt is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Georgia Athletic Trainers Association, and National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Matt’s wife Jessica is a Speech-Language Pathologist at Rock Spring Elementary School in LaFayette, GA. Matt and Jessica have two children, Tate and Cora.

Lauren Shank

Lauren Shank PT, DPT is a physical therapist at Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in LaFayette, GA. Lauren graduated from Rome High School in 2005 before heading south to receive her undergraduate degree from Georgia College and State University (GCSU) in Milledgeville, GA. Lauren’s focus at GCSU was athletic training, and during her attendance she completed clinical internships working with athletes at Mount De Sales Academy in Macon, GA as well as with the basketball and softball teams at GCSU. Additionally, Lauren studied abroad in the summer of 2008 working with athletes at the National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport. Lauren graduated from GCSU in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. For her graduate work, Lauren attended the University of North Georgia (UNG) as a part of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. She completed internships with Redmond Hospital in Rome as well as Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA in the acute, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Lauren received the degree Doctor of Physical Therapy from UNG in 2013. She is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Lauren is seeking a certification in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and has completed parts A, B, and C.

Lauren’s areas of interest include gait and balance disorders, stroke recovery, low back/ neck pain, and women’s health. She participated in research work while at UNG regarding optimal positions for performing pelvic floor muscle contractions in an attempt to effectively treat urinary incontinence/pelvic floor disorders.

Lauren and her husband, Jason, enjoy integrating and investing into their local community. Lauren and Jason have one daughter, Helen and are expecting a second daughter in September.

Jensen Wages

Jensen Wages, PT, DPT is a physical therapist at Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in LaFayette, GA. Jensen is from Ringgold, GA and graduated from Ringgold High School in 2009. Jensen attended Kennesaw State University (KSU) where she competed as a Division I athlete with the KSU Women’s Softball team. Jensen graduated from KSU in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Science. She continued her education at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) in the Physical Therapy program. While at UTC, Jensen participated in clinical internships at Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, Gordon Hospital, Floyd Medical Center in orthopedic, acute care, and inpatient settings. Jensen also participated in research investigating the effects hip strength, mechanics and alignment in ACL recovery and re-injury rate. Jensen received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2016.

Jensen and her husband, Chris, have one son named Sawyer. They enjoy spending time with family and with their beloved dog, Otis.

Matthew Parker

Matthew Parker, PT, DPT is a physical therapist at Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in LaFayette, GA. Matthew is a native of LaFayette, GA and graduated from LaFayette High School in 2008. Matthew then attended North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Georgia where he earned the degree of Bachelor's of Science in Biology in 2012. During his undergraduate career, Matthew was a Resident Assistant for a freshman dormatory, and an orientation leader for NGCSU's incoming freshmen. Matthew continued his education at the University of North Georgia where he received the degree Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2017 also receiving the Frank Fearon and Scot Irwin Award for Clinical Excellence. Matthew has been married to his wonderful wife Brittany Parker for a little over 4 years.

Allison King

Allison King, PTA, is a physical therapist assistant at Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in LaFayette, GA. Allison is from Chickamauga, GA and graduated from Gordon Lee High School in 2011. She attended Kennesaw State University and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She then continued her education in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Chattanooga State and graduated in May of 2017. While in the PTA program, Allison completed clinical rotations in local acute care, inpatient, and orthopedic settings.

Everything was great. Everyone was always kind and ready to help as needed. All the staff was great and work well together.
